The second edition of the Red Robin 7” series sees the Kiwi rub-a-dub doyens team up with their long-time friend from Kampala, Uganda, SK Simeon – for a catchy new single called Dem Wanna be my Friend.

Riding a high-octane TR 707-driven riddim, the Ugandan Firestarter provides an unusual yet compelling vocal performance. Switching up styles like a stripper on speed, he ranges from falsetto crooning to ruffneck deejaying to spoken word preaching to deliver a sermon on the dangers of fickle, fair-weather friends.

As per usual, this limited edition musical disc features a stripped-back dub on the flip, courtesy of Naram. Mastered to tape by Pole for maximum impact in the dance.
