Here is the first album of this early digital icon. Before recording for Jammy (http://digitalreggae.blogspot.com/2009/05/pinchers-agony.html ) and Burrell (http://digitalmidigital.blogspot.com/search/label/Pinchers ), he has made a hit with the first single (abracadabra) of this first album.
A main contributor is Peter Chemist. Chemist is a famous recording and mixing engineer (http://www.roots-archives.He has also produced this album for Blue Mountain. According to facebook (I am not a big fan of these social networking websites but it can be useful) he currenlty lives in Calgary (Canada). I have found nothing on his current activities. If someone know something about him, It would be glad to make us know.
Anyway, the musicians credited are also famous: Steelie, Asher, Sly and Robbie,Robbie Lyn, Barnabas.
And it has been recorded at Channel One of course, in 1986.
Concerning this album, the notable songs are:
- "can't take the pressure" on the revolution riddim!!!
- "darling baby" on the youthman riddim!!
two of the biggest riddims of the early digital area, and simply two of the biggest riddims of all time.
To my opinion, the baddest song is "woman a run me down", for its riddim.
But it's better for you to make your own opinion on this pure digital album.
Enjoy
